Santiago de Cuba was founded on July 25 1515 and stands out by the cheerful and appeased inhabitants and for the historical-cultural wealth. All who visit this wonderful city fells like being in a unique place, not only because of the city, of exquisite grace, but for the inhabitants hospitality. For sea lovers there are several diving centers, along 150 km and near the coast, with marked heterogeneity and great quantity of seascapes to admire. Latest of the XIX century lie collapsed in the submarine funds several ships of the Spanish fleet of Cervera. The city is par excellence headquarters of the Festival of the Caribbean Culture, of the bolero and son and it is so strong the artistic sensibility, that Santiago de Cuba has become the best Cuban scenario to welcome cultural events, to the point of deserving the nickname of the Cultural Capital of the Caribbean. In the Sierra Maestra stands out Baconao Park, Turquino Pick and The Great Stone, emblematical places of the geography and history of Santiago that offer the visitor an unique opportunity for trekking and the ascent to the mountainous summits of this solid one.
